Ashley Jones

Tap, Adaptive Class 

Ashley Jones began her training at Orange County Dance Center where she rose to principal ballerina with Ballet Repertory Theatre eventually becoming a full time instructor and choreographer. She was trained by Joffrey and Houston ballet professional dancers Anthony and Terri Sellars and credits her jazz, contemporary, and tap training to Edge Performing Arts Center founder, Keith Clifton. Ashley holds an AA in dance from OCC as well as a BA in Business Administration and Political Science from USC. She was named one of Long Beach’s 30 under 30 performing artists in 2013 and is a current graduate student at CSULB studying dance education with the goal of becoming a professor of dance. Ashley currently dances professionally for Nannette Brodie Dance Theatre, Contempo Ballet, and Kenneth Walker Dance Project, and works as a freelance performer throughout California having performed in numerous music videos, dance festivals, and recently on the Hollywood Bowl stage to name a few.

Ashley has studied adaptive dance with Boston Ballet, USC, and Axis Dance Company and recently completed a dance series for McGraw-Hill digital textbooks. She was recently voted on to the 2019 California Dance Education Association's board as its professional development representative and is a graduate of both Dale Carnegie and Leadership Long Beach development programs. Ashley is the jazz company director at The School of Dance and Music also teaching ballet, contemporary, tap, hip hop, and Latin dance styles to all ages and levels. Ashley is the founding instructor of the Segerstrom Dance School for Children with Disabilities and is currently in her 18th year of dance instruction. She is known for challenging her students in new and creative ways and creating award winning choreography winning a Judges choice award in every competition ever entered. Ashley is also an active pilates and barre instructor having completed both her Lagree Fitness and BASI Pilates certifications in 2015. She loves concerts, basketball, cheese, Italian culture, and of course all things dance and music!
