At Strong Dance Studios, we encourage students to be Strong and confident people. We encourage them to be Strong dancers. We encourage them to be Strong friends, mentors, leaders, and students. We encourage them to be Strong students in the dance studio as well as at school. For us, school comes first. So what if your student is struggling at school? We might have a great solution for you. There are many reasons why this might be happening. Does any of this sound familiar?

Effects of the Pandemic

The reliance on a new delivery of online instruction and hybrid methods have posed challenges for academics, emotional wellness and social development. Due to the COVID19 pandemic, our kids have transitioned to remote learning, sometimes multiple times. Teachers have struggled to deliver instruction, and students have struggled to learn. While they all demonstrated resilience and technological savvy some big gaps have formed affecting performance and confidence.

Skill gaps leading to battles

Students may be struggling with skills and concepts being taught at school for a variety of reasons and need help.  Let’s face it, as parents we need help, too. Most of us are not teachers trained on how to explain skills and concepts to our students.  Even parents who are teachers struggle with trying to teach their own children. Homework becomes a battle, and then the whole family struggles.

Not the “what” just the “how”

Many times a student understands concepts and is really struggling with executive function: the ability to organize materials, plan ahead, stay on track, and turn in assignments.  Some may just struggle with study or test taking skills and perform poorly on quizzes, tests, or exams.

But that’s where we come in!

All students need to do well in school.  All students deserve the opportunity to succeed in school.  All students need to feel confident.  If your student needs support, Strong Dance Studios now has an in-house tutor to assist families with instruction to fill in gaps, strengthen organizational and study skills, and motivate students to do well in school.  This raises confidence!

Contact us to get started on helping your student with a needs assessment and a plan to become strong and confident at school!

flexible options

In-studio tutoring: $50 for a 50-minute session

Students can get help with homework at the studio in our front office in our designated tutoring room with a 4:1 ratio. With a desk, learning materials, and whiteboard they can sit down with our tutor before, after, or even between classes. This can range from learning skills and concepts to practicing test taking skills to just help with homework. This model can help stop homework battles, assist in memory and retention for better test scores and reinforce your student’s success in learning concepts they’ve missed to keep moving forward with their school year.

In-home tutoring: $75 for a 45-minute session

Students can benefit from one on one tutoring in your home, away from the hustle and bustle of the dance studio.  Need more focused instruction?  Our in-house tutor will come to your home to work with your student.

Parents will be asked to schedule a minimum of 3 tutoring sessions - 21 days to a new habit.
